Professional Makeup Artist

Taylor's Story.
Taylor here! I am so glad you're here choosing to learn more about me and the services I offer. A bit about me - My journey into the beauty industry began in high school when I enrolled in Cosmetology School. I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry but quickly learned that whatever I did, It wouldn't be hair. During school (2013-2015) is about the time makeup tutorials on Youtube started popping off. I felt like I had discovered a whole new world. One video quickly lead to the next and I found myself staying up until 1,2,3:00 am binging video after video and couldn't wait until the morning to try out all the new tips + tricks I had learned. My obsession for makeup grew FAST. I begged my mom to take me to iKEA to get my first makeup vanity and spent almost every dollar I earned working as a receptionist at a hair salon on makeup. I never really knew at that time exactly what I wanted to do with my career but I just knew I wanted it to be within the makeup industry. Although I did not enjoy the hair aspect of cosmetology school I knew I had to stick with it and obtain my cosmetology license because it would be nothing but useful for my future career, no matter what I ended up doing. And boy am I glad I did.

After High School I worked a few retail jobs which in hindsight really helped me strengthen my social skills and taught me how to build a relationship with my clients. I would take bookings as they came my way through word of mouth but it still wasn't enough to consider it a job, just a hobby. A few years after High School, I landed a job at Estee Lauder as a Beauty Advisor then Counter Manager and I finally felt like I was headed in the right direction of where I wanted to end up with my career. I absolutely loved working for EL and feel so lucky to have gotten to work for such an incredible company. During the 2 years I worked at the counter I began to grow my clientele and I found myself in a position where I needed to either take the leap of faith into my makeup artist career or stay where I'm comfortable. At a job that's reliable and has benefits. I'm guessing you know what happens next, spoiler - I didn't choose the "logical" option and decided to just go for it!

I began my career at a local salon in Richmond, IN offering lash extensions and makeup applications. From there my business quickly took off once I put my all into it and started marketing the heck out of myself. Now, I'm almost 7 years into offering makeup professionally and I couldn't feel more fulfilled and blessed to call this my "job". I owe all my success to my amazing clients, family, friends, and co workers/peers. I wouldn't of made it to where I am without their support.

Whether or not I have the opportunity to glam you up, I am truly so grateful you're even here taking the time to learn more about me and my services.

xoxo, Taylor.
